Soon Hulu will be offering live TV from the major networks
Hulu is finally stepping up its game. Hulu announced in the first part of 2017 the TV streaming service will be offering live television channels to its subscribers.
As of right now Hulu has confirmed deals with Time-Warner (CNN, TBS) ABC (ABC, Disney, ESPN) FOX (FOX, FX, Fox News) and CBS.
Live channels expected to be be added by launch: NBC/Universal (NBC, Bravo, Discovery), AMC, Scripps Networks (HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel), Regional Sports Networks
The price for this service is expected to be under $40. Hulu will include a cloud DVR which recordings will not expire like they do with Playstation Vue service. An enhanced new user interface that will allow up to 6 user profiles. Plus multiple streams going at the same time in your household or where ever you are. This will allow you to watch on multiple devices: smartphones, tablets, PC, MAC OS, Apple TV, iOS, Android, Chromecast, Xbox One.
Alternative To Comcast
Hulu will be offering their service with no contract commitments. It might just be the thing potential cable cutters are looking for. This may finally tip them over the fence and get rid of cable TV for good.
You will get to set preferences in your profile to be notified when your favorite sports team or sporting event is playing. You will also get to choose to watch it then or have it saved to watch later.
The future of TV
I see this as a great step for the evolution of TV streaming. I’m excited to see how this will affect the other competing services and their future offerings. I believe this is the future of television and not just fashionable trend. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment or contacting me.
